Sheila Grant

Sheila Grant is a professional dancer, actress, teacher and choreographer. She completed her professional theatre training at Bird College London, graduating with a first class BA (Hons) in Dance & Theatre Performance. Straight out of college she landed her first role in the West End production of Cabaret, going from success to success. Her performance career spans theatre, TV, film and voiceover. Musicals and plays in London's West End, Europe, and South America include: Wicked, Carousel, On The Town, Hello Dolly, and An American in Paris, Shakespeare's Measure for Measure and horror play The Feather Pillow. She has choreographed productions for Soho Theatre London, the Edinburgh Fringe and for numerous London secondary schools.

As a freelance dance and movement teacher, Sheila works with the Royal Academy of Dance London, Pineapple Dance Studios and African-based non-government organisation MindLeaps. She spends her time delivering performing arts and creative movement workshops across the world to participants of all ages, nationalities and abilities. She passionately believes that movement is an important vehicle for improving confidence, creativity and communication skills.

As well as Pilates training, Sheila has trained in yoga in India and enjoys an annual retreat at the Sivananda Ashram in Kerala. Although she has always incorporated yoga in to her dance and fitness practice, she became more interested in the lifestyle benefits of meditation, yoga and breath control in 2016.

Sheila swears by regular plank exercises to keep her core strong and yoga to keep her supple. Alongside regular stretching, her secret to good health is consuming turmeric to help beat inflammation amongst other benefits. After breaking her ankle while running the 2016 London Marathon, she completed her four month rehabilitation programme relying solely on turmeric for the pain and inflammation!
